ForTran Law Firm and the JUFE School of Law have jointly launched a Teaching Practice and Career Development Base in Shanghai, strengthening cooperation in internships, innovative legal education, and research initiatives. Partner Ivy Yang was also appointed as a mentor for the JUFE Alumni Association Legal Excellence Program (Shanghai Cohort).
On the morning of 27 August 2025, Shanghai ForTran Law Firm and the School of Law (School of Discipline Inspection and Supervision) of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) officially launched their jointly established Teaching and Career Development Base in Shanghai. Partner Ivy Yang attended the unveiling ceremony on behalf of the firm.
The new base will provide law students with expanded opportunities to engage with real-world legal practice and gain firsthand exposure to the work of a law firm, while also bringing fresh perspectives and new talent into ForTran. The collaboration will focus on internships, innovative legal education initiatives, and research collaboration, with both parties working together to explore training models that better align with the evolving needs of the legal profession.
At the mentor appointment ceremony held the same day for the JUFE Alumni Association Legal Excellence Program (Shanghai Cohort), Partner Ivy Yang was appointed as an alumni mentor. In her remarks, she spoke about inspiring students to cultivate their legal aspirations while still on campus, encouraging them to stay committed, be pragmatic, and embrace exploration as they grow into legal professionals equipped with both expertise and a strong sense of social responsibility.
The unveiling marks only the beginning, with much to look forward to in the future. This initiative is ForTran’s third joint base with higher education institutions, following earlier collaborations with Fudan University’s School of Economics and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics’ School of Public Economics and Administration. Leveraging the firm’s strengths in finance and tax law, ForTran aims to work closely with universities to bridge academic learning with practical experience and help nurture a new generation of legal professionals who combine vision with responsibility.
