Lei Xu has a strong interdisciplinary background in finance and law, holding a Master’s degree in Law from East China Normal University and a Bachelor’s degree in Management (ACCA Accounting Track) from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance. She has passed China’s legal qualification examination, completed all ACCA examinations, passed multiple sections of the Chinese CPA examination, and holds a fund practitioner license.
Before joining ForTran Law Firm, Lei worked at Ningbo Kaitou Hanrun Investment Management Partnership, a private equity fund with RMB 6 billion under management, where she was extensively involved in project risk control, legal affairs, and post-investment management. She independently prepared investment risk assessment reports for projects in sectors such as photovoltaics, photoresist raw materials, X-ray equipment, and medical aesthetic dressings, and provided legal and compliance support for equity repurchase, compensation, and share reduction transactions. Her experience spans on-site due diligence, agreement review, collaboration with third-party intermediaries on due diligence reporting, and management of investment terms, demonstrating both solid legal skills and strong business acumen.
Lei also gained experience in IPO auditing and medical compliance research during internships at Crowe (Zhonghua) CPAs and Burning Rock Biotech’s legal compliance department. She is highly proficient in drafting bilingual legal documents and conducting professional communications in both Chinese and English.
