Jane Chen is an experienced attorney with a focus on corporate advisory, leasing, domestic and cross-border investment and financing, and civil and commercial dispute resolution. She serves as a committee member of the Research Committee on Leasing at the Shanghai Bar Association, a mediator for the Shanghai Leasing Industry Association’s Mediation Committee, and a partner and volunteer lawyer with Expat Support China (ESC). Since December 2023, she has also been a lecturer at the Practice Training Center of East China Normal University School of Law. Jane holds a Level-3 Lawyer Professional Qualification in Shanghai.
Jane has practiced in both Beijing and Shanghai, earning a reputation for providing pragmatic and client-focused legal solutions aligned with business objectives and personal interests. She has extensive experience in labor law and cross-border matters, including representing expatriate employees in labor arbitration to resolve unlawful wage deductions, advising foreign investors on structuring real estate investments in Qingdao via limited partnership platforms with domestic guarantees for offshore loans, and assisting foreign clients in litigation against banks for debit card fraud. She has also represented the family of an employee to secure recognition of a work-related death during remote work and serves as labor and employment counsel to the Shanghai subsidiary of a foreign pet food company, providing compliance advice, policy development, and dispute prevention support.
